Sanjeev Yamsani leads investments at VenturEast and focuses on Deeptech (Climate, Industry, Mobility, Energy, Agri); Product Software (Enterprise, SaaS, Dev Tools, Data, Al, GenAl Applications); B2B (Supply chain digitization, e-commerce enablers), and Middle India (Fintech, ConsumerTech, Health).

Sanjeev brings together investment experience in early to growth stage, private equity and leverage buyout transactions (LBO) across different sectors in India.

Prior to joining Ventureast, Sanjeev was at DE Shaw, a global investment and technology development firm. He worked on the illiquid strategies of DE Shaw - Private Equity investments in India and LBO in the US.

Sanjeev interned at the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, where he assisted the organization in creating sustainable livelihood programs for tribal’s in NSTR and Kawal regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Sanjeev was also the Founding Member of a production team (Swadharm Entertainment) for making content-driven Telugu feature films. The first movie, “Malli Raava” released in December 2017 across 220+ screens grossing INR 8 crores in lifetime revenue. The second movie, “Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya” released in May 2019 across 400+ screens grossing INR 15 crores in lifetime revenues.

Sanjeev has an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Sanjeev was part of the ISB Angles Fellows, an organized effort to bring together ‘Angel Investors’ from the ISB community and entrepreneurs. During his undergraduate years, he enjoyed leading the creative art department, and was an active participant in his college's 'Annual Grama Seva'. He was also a member of the 'NO FEAR' group that performed bike stunts for one of his college's annual cultural meets.
