Sanjeev Yamsani co-leads investments in Ventureast Life Fund and focuses on Healthcare, Cleantech, and Food/Agri investments. Sanjeev brings together investment experience in early to growth stage, private equity and leverage buyout transactions (LBO) across different sectors in India.
Prior to joining Ventureast, Sanjeev was at DE Shaw, a global investment and technology development firm. He worked on the illiquid strategies of DE Shaw - Private Equity investments in India and LBO in the US. The transactions were in the nature of mezzanine financing, structured financing (CDS), and long term equity financing.
Sanjeev interned at the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, where he assisted the organization in creating sustainable livelihood programs for tribal’s in NSTR and Kawal regions of Andhra Pradesh.
Sanjeev has an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Sanjeev was part of the ISB Angles Fellows, an organized effort to bring together ‘Angel Investors’ from the ISB community and entrepreneurs. During his undergraduate years, he enjoyed leading the creative art department, and was an active participant in his college's 'Annual Grama Seva'. He was also a member of the 'NO FEAR' group that performed bike stunts for one of his college's annual cultural meets.
